Headbands

So I had to make headbands for my little dancers at the studio this year as part of their costumes. There were 2 different ones I had to make, ant headbands and squirrel headbands.

So I started with dollar store headbands, and I spray painted them black (and I covered my face and did the spray painting outside lol). I used our puppy pee pads to spray them on because we have about 30 left from training Bella over a year ago lol.

Then for the squirrels (who I forgot to take pics of) I used half a black pipecleaner and wrapped a feather boa around it and hot glued it to stay. And then just wrapped the pipe cleaner around the headband.

For the ants, I hot glued black pompoms to the end of black pipe cleaners and then attached them to the headbands. And voila, super cheap headbands for dance costumes!!

Rainy Days

Rainy days suck. I just can't get motivated ever when it's rainy outside. And plus I'm feeling very tired this week. Blame it on the pregnancy and only have 4.5 weeks left until Baby Bear's anticipated arrival, but I'm exhausted all the time now. And I have SO much to do. In the next hour, I have to make 14 headbands for recital pictures tonight.... they are mostly put together already, I just have to attach the pieces to the headbands with hot glue, not too difficult. But I am waiting for the headbands to dry. I had to spray paint them this morning... something I'm not sure I should have done myself, but I did it outside on the front porch and I covered my mouth and nose so I wasn't TOTALLY inhaling the fumes lol. I finally found a use for all the puppy pee pads we bought when Bella was a baby puppy, we used 2 of them and have a huge package leftover. So I used them to spray paint on top of. It worked quite well. I'll post finished pictures of the headbands... if I ever get them done lol. And I have to finish choreographing a dance tonight.

The reason I have to finish the dance tonight is because one of my students has been away for the past 2 weeks. She's been visiting her young cousin who has been at Sick Kids Hospital for the past little while. Her cousin is 2 years old and has terminal cancer, it's so sad and it makes me feel awful inside. Please keep little Peyton in your prayers as she goes through radiation treatments. She's far too young to have to go through this.

Things I want

Things I want - but don't necessarily need lol:

1. A cricut machine - I don't NEED one, but I definitely want one, I see the cool things people keep doing with them online.

2. A Silhouette machine - again, not a need but definitely a want.

3. A location for our wedding - I'm so tired of trying to make everyone happy, it's starting to stress me out. No matter where we want the wedding, someone either can't make it or they don't like our decision. So we've put wedding talk on hiatus until after Baby Bear's arrival because I can't handle the stress of it right now.

4. Sleep - I can not for the life of me get a good night's sleep anymore, I'm so uncomfortable at night now lol. I wake up sweating at some points in the night and then other points, I get super cold. I just can't win lol.

5. An extra 3 hours every day - that way I could get more stuff done... or just try to sleep more lol.

6. A new stove - don't get me wrong - I like my stove, but I want a convection oven... and I want one that has the two separate spots in the bottom for baking/cooking. So then I can make cookies at the same time I'm making dinner.

7. A Joanne's Fabric in Canada - they have more stuff for better prices... I want them here lol.

And that's about it for now!!

Wonderful Weekends

I had a WONDERFUL weekend with the CWL ladies in Trenton. It was very nice to see old friends and to make new friends as well. AND I got to spend time with my Mom which was super nice too. She and I were roomies for the weekend so she got to spend some quality time with me and Baby Bear. It was fun because she was able to feel how active Baby Bear is. When she was here in April, BB wasn't moving too much and now, it's never ending lol. I was also able to spend time with my friend Teena from Winnipeg and her little man Gabriel who is only 10 weeks old. What a sweetie he was!!! I even got to feed him his bottle one morning, BB didn't like that too much and kept kicking him and then he would kick BB back lol, it was cute.

While I was away - Panda Man went into Sears to figure out why our crib wasn't here yet. Turns out, the crib we chose had been discontinued and they cancelled our order without even telling us about it. I PANICKED. But we went into Sears yesterday morning and they were VERY helpful and we ordered a new one, and a new dresser to match, AND they gave us a crazy discount on them so we ended up saving about $400. Thank goodness for that. SO the crib and dresser should be here on June 6 *fingers crossed*.

One More Sleep

One more sleep and I get to see my MOM!! I'm kind of excited. Can't you tell??? But I have SO much to get done before tomorrow. This is my to-do-list:

1. Make and decorate cake for Convention.
2. Make name-tag for Convention.
3. Put together Operation Common Ground poster board for Convention.
4. Pack for convention.
5. Fix M-A's music for class tonight.
6. Teach from 4-8 tonight.
7. Make cookies for Panda Man (that doesn't have to be done, but he requested them lol).
8. Do Laundry.
9. Go to Panda Man's work bowling tournament this afternoon.
10. Return stuff to mall.
11. Sleep.
12. Go to Dr. Appt.
13. Drive to T-town.
14. Sleep.
15. Do dishes.

and this all has to be done between now and noon tomorrow..... yikes. I better get cracking, instead of being on blogspot... and facebook... and emailing... ugh... lol.

New week, new outlook

So after my pretty crummy week last week, I've decided to go into this week with a new outlook. Bad things may happen, but it's my attitude that will affect the outcome. And so far this week has been wonderful. I worked at Carter's yesterday and had a blast. I really like my coworkers there and they have all told me that I HAVE to come back to visit once the baby arrives. Today I taught dance, and it was a great evening. Two of my classes practiced on the stage for recital for the first time today and they did AWESOME! And they are my littlest dancers too. I'm so pumped to see them perform at the the recital. I hope they actually all do the dance lol. After teaching there was a CWL meeting, it went okay. I'm kind of glad that we're almost done with that until the fall - the time commitment is getting to be a bit much for me.

On another Happy Happy Note - I get to see my Mom on Friday!!! I know I just saw her in April when she was here for my shower, but I'm so excited to see her again. I really miss her. It's also only 8 weeks until my sister comes to visit me at MY HOUSE! I'm pumped for her to see the house and meet Baby Bear and to see everything here. It should be lots of fun.

Hope all of you out in blogland are also having a great week so far!

Not a good week at all

So I was hoping that today would be better than the rest of the week.... it started off fine. I woke up on time, Bella was being co-operative, things were going great.... until I put Bella in the car for her haircut. Then she started to whine, it was weird. She's never whined like that in the car with me before. She whined the entire way to the vet's office. Then I got out of the car, and let her out of the car while holding onto her leash. Then she saw something, then I hit the pavement. I'm not even sure how I hit the ground, one minute I was standing, the next minute I was on my stomach.... YES, that's right folks, 32.5 weeks pregnant and falling flat on my baby. Not a good way to start Friday. I felt ok. And I went to work. Then I called the Dr's office, and was told, nope, you're not okay - come straight into Labour and Delivery. WTF??? But I'm not feeling cramping, or bleeding, or anything else, but they want to make sure that everythings A-Ok. Which I understand now, but still it made me panic a little bit. Especially since Panda Man was out for the afternoon golfing - not in town and he didn't drive himself there, so he had no way of coming back to go to the hospital with me. So off I went, all by my lonesome. It was a bit nervewracking - they hooked me up to the monitors, but everyone was super friendly and nice, so it wasn't too bad. Baby Bear is doing great - heart rate is great, movement is great - they just needed to make sure that I wasn't having bleeding or anything - so now I just have to relax tonight - I think I can handle that :)

Bad Thursday

So this week has been kind of weird. On Tuesday when I was teaching dance, I started to feel really dizzy and almost passed out. It was crazy. And then it happened again today. Now I haven't talked to my doc about it because I can't reach them. Trying to get ahold of someone at KGH is so hard. So today I left work early, cancelled my teaching for the night. And I'm now relaxing. I hope this doesn't keep happening.
