Linking up with Nicole at Flip Flops & Combat Boots!

Fascinating
Pleasant
Sweet
Sensational
Heartwarming

1. It's FASCINATING watching Nora sleep at night - she is so friggin cute.

2. It's PLEASANT to have had two great nights of sleep, especially since I was feeling sick this week.  I'm very happy for that.

3. It's SWEET that my baby girl gives kisses now.  They are open mouth with tongue but if you ask her for a kiss she leans right over and gives it to you - it's definitely sweet. :)

4.  I had a SENSATIONAL time yesterday hanging out with my good friend Pam.  We missed our weekly hang out last week because of the holiday and other stuff (you know LIFE got in the way lol).  And I truly love hanging out with this girl.  She's awesome.

5. My HEARTWARMING moment this week was a text message from my Mom telling me that my 11 month post about Nora made her cry and she said I'm a great writer.  That makes me feel great because well, I'm not really the "writer" in the family (that's my sister - she has a book), and to know that my Mom thinks I'm doing a great job with my little girl, warms my heart right to the core :)  Love you Mom :) (I know she reads this - and this might make her cry too hehehe)

SOMEthing's Drawn!!

Linking up with the Lovely Major K again (I seriously love writing that, it makes me giggle - see for those of you who don't know, it's Mrs K and Captain J but according to my fam - the woman is always one rank higher than her hubby - that's why she is Major K to me!)

Picture Number 1 - Hula Hoop - pretty straight forward I think...

I'm getting SUPER good at drawing toasters...weird claim to fame lol.

My pirate - with his peg leg, hook hand and eye patch.
I had no idea how to draw this one - and honestly I haven't played for awhile... so I hope that whoever this was for understood what I was going for lol.

See ya next week!!

11 months

This is me, in May last year before I had Nora.  I barely even look pregnant in this picture - it's so hard to believe that an entire year has gone by.  I really enjoyed being pregnant - minus the morning sickness in the first trimester.  But I definitely was on of the girls that loved it :)
This pic was taken by one of my fave photographers (I have two faves, Pam Kelly at Light Graph Photography and Karen Kavanagh at Karen Kavanagh Photography).  I had such a little belly at this point, approx. 3 days after these pictures were done my stomach TOTALLY popped out lol.
This was us putting together Nora's bed - I can't believe that she actually sleeps in her crib in her own room now.  She did sleep in our room for approx the first 6 months of her life, she started in her cradle and then we used our playpen.
This is her now in the crib - she still looks teeny in it but still, it's been lowered and she spends the night in her own room now.  I can't believe how big she is now.
This was Nora and Bella when she was about 2 weeks old.
This was Nora and Bella 3 weeks ago.  Bella is so great with her, it's awesome.

My dearest little Nora Bear,

I can not believe that you are 11 months old now.  The things you are starting to do absolutely amaze me.  You eat "real" food now, you love spaghetti and Mac and Cheese.  You still really like applesauce and pears too.  You would rather feed yourself now instead of having us feed you, it's cute.  Also, when you're done you do the sign for "all done" and say ahhh.  It's absolutely adorable.  You're so close to walking on your own now - you pull yourself up on EVERYTHING, the couch, the wall, the coffee table, the dog lol.  You've now started to balance a little bit on your own.  You still love Giraffey - in fact, when Hanna was visiting last week and tried to take it away from you, you totally lost it and started crying instantly.  You still aren't sleeping fully through the night, but it's because you usually wake up with a wet diaper lol.  You're still in cloth diapers.  You are FINALLY in 9 month clothing lol.  At your pediatrician appointment last week you weighed 17lbs 6 oz.  So you're little but they aren't worried about it, they say that you are the perfect weight for your height :)

Daddy and I love you SO much and you have completely blessed our lives.

Love always and forever,
Mommy and Daddy.

Project 365 - Week 21

Linking up with the lovely Laura again :)

Day 141 - It was Nora's friend Connor's 3rd birthday today.  This is Nora and her pal Tianna, hanging out in the pool - it was plus 29 C with a humidex of plus 35 C (84 F with a humidex of 95F for you Americans lol).

Day 142 - It was Victoria Day here in Canada (our May holiday) and we decided to take a nice road trip down to Watertown NY.  And we hit up my FAVE place, Panera Bread.  Nora also enjoyed it as well. :)

Day 143 - Our doctor's appointment to see the pediatrician.  She was excited to eat her mum mum while waiting.

Day 144 - Spaghetti time for Nora :)

Day 145 - Nora and I watched So You Think You Can Dance tonight - she was enthralled with the dancing.  And as a dance teacher Momma, that makes me SO HAPPY!!

Day 146 - My diapers on my new clothesline.  Which has since broken and needs to be repaired, but at least my diapers dried lol.

Day 147 - Kingston Scotland Festival - Had a blast with Colin, Christina, Tianna, Rohwyn, Paul and Nora :)

Friday Letters!

Photobucket

Dear Friday,
Umm. Wow.  Where did you come from?  Can time slow down just a teensy bit please?  I still have so much to do this week.
Sincerely, Girl with a big to do list

Dear Baby Girl,
I hope you have a better sleep tonight than last night - I know it's hot outside, and I know that you're teething again so you're kind of miserable, but Mommy would like a good night's sleep too and it's hard to do with you crying every 20 minutes.  Feel better soon, k lovey!
Love your Mama

Dear Sister,
I still miss you.  That is all.
Love your Northern sister

Dear Husband,
Thank you thank you thank you for installing my clothesline today.  It has diapers drying on it.  Which is awesome.  You are awesome.  I only wish that you could be on leave all summer long, this past week has been loverly.  I wish that you didn't start your course on Monday - but I know you'll kick butt and do great and then in August we can go on a little family holiday just the 3 of us!
Love always, your Wifey

Dear Weather,
What is up with you?  I shouldn't complain that it's hot.  But um, it's only May.  If you're already in the 30's now (Celsius for all you Americans out there - it converts to approx. somewhere in the high 80's I believe), what's going to happen in the "hot" months of July and August... I think I might get heat stroke.  And I might need to go buy a swimming pool.  Ugh.  Please lower a few degrees please.
Thanks so much - the sweaty girl in Canada.

HAPPY FRIDAY!!!

Normal baby

So Nora had her special appointment with the pediatrician today.  And as we suspected - nothing is wrong with my baby.  If you remember, our family doctor told us that there was an issue with Nora because she was in the 9th percentile for weight so we were referred to the COPC at Hotel Dieu to see a pediatrician.  When we got there today, the nurse was so friendly and nice and really put us at ease.  And she told me that with her 20+ years of experience as a pediatric nurse, she didn't think anything was wrong with Nora but she'd let the Dr. confirm that lol.  When we saw Dr. Moore, she told us that Nora is the perfect weight for her height.  She is only in the 15th percentile for height but with a smaller Mom and a Dad who started out smaller too, it's NORMAL.  I guess during the first 6 months of life, babies are supposed to double their birth weight, from 6-18 months it's called genetic weight gain and it's mostly based on their height and how the babies parents were.  So Nora is perfectly fine where she is.  And I feel SO MUCH BETTER now.

And this is how Nora was at dinner time - I really don't think my baby has a problem with eating lol.
It was spaghetti night :)

Project 365 - Week 20

Linking up with the Lovely Laura again on this BEAUTIFUL Sunday for Project 365.  It is gorgeous here today - so we are planning on enjoying the weather outside.  Hope it's just as nice for you guys wherever you may be.

Day 133 - Happy 1st Mother's Day to me!  Paul took us to church, and then to brunch at the Toucan and then my loving, caring husband took me for gelati.  It was delicious.  We had strawberry, marshmallow and vanilla blueberry as our 3 flavours.  I LOVED IT.  Nora also made me a card. :)
Day 134 - We have birds that are trying to build a next on our front porch next to my tomato plants.  It's very weird.  We keep sweeping the nest pieces away but they keep trying.
Day 135 - Daddy had his first baseball game of the season today - somebody was REALLY tired after being outside in the sunshine lol.
Day 136 - Nora tried watermelon for the first time today - she seemed to like it.  She also had pancakes too :)
Day 136 - I know 2 pictures for one day - BUT - our good friends had their baby girl on this day - Rohwyn Cailah Ann.  So we went to meet her in the hospital.  She's a cutie with a TON of hair :)
Day 137 - Another baseball game day - but it was really cold outside so we hung out in the car to watch.  Nora had TipTop (her giraffe) and her puffs so she was a happy camper lol
Day 138 - RMC Graduation Commissioning Parade.  Nora and her Daddy all dressed up :)
Day 139 - Somehow, Nora crawled under the table, then under the chair and got herself stuck and was trying to climb out through the chair openings.  I should have helped right away, but I took pictures instead because it was funny lol.  I'm a mean mommy lol.

Friday Letters

Dear RMC Grads,
Congratulations on your commissioning today, the parade was awesome.
From, Proud Military Supporter

Dear Nora,
YOU were awesome today at the parade - thank you for being such a good little girl.  You slept through the majority of it, even with the band playing loudly right next to us.  The only time you were upset was when the F-18's did a fly past.  But I understand, I don't really like pilots either lol.  Could you please try to fall asleep on your own now though, I really don't want to continue this whole rocking you to sleep thing (don't get me wrong - I LOVE snuggling with you but you need to sleep on your own).
Love your Momma

Dear Husband,
Only 364 days until YOUR graduation.  I'm starting to get really excited.  I'm also starting to plan my outfit for the Convocation, the Commissioning Parade and the Grad Ball.  So excited :)
Love, your super proud Wife

 Dear Beaches Sandy Bay,
Thank you for closing down this Christmas for construction.  This means we get a free upgrade to Beaches Negril because we were already booked.  Thank you Thank you Thank you.  SO pumped for this trip.  It's going to be awesome.  And thanks for doing military discounts too :)
From, Your super excited Vacation junkie

Dear Mom,
Wish I could be in E-town for the CWL Convention this weekend.  I'm sad that I'm missing out on it.  It was a blast last year.  I know you'll have an awesome time.  Keep your chin up and don't let certain people get to you.  You are awesome and you've done a great job as President :)
 Love, Your caring daughter.

Dear Sister,
I miss you.  That is all.  Oh and only approx. 1 month until you are here.  YAY.
Now that is all.
Love your baby sis.

So What Wednesday!

SO WHAT IF….

-    I changed my outfit 3 times today.  I couldn’t decide what I wanted to wear.

-    I did a whole lot of nothing today.  It’s Wednesday.  And we didn’t have a group coffee morning because of the next item listed!

-    I got excited because one of my close friends had a BABY today!!  Welcome to the world Rohwyn Cailah Ann!!  She is absolutely adorable.

-    If we went to the hospital to visit her – I know some people may have wanted to go and didn’t know about it, but I’m BEYOND happy that I was told when she went into the hospital and was told about the birth shortly after it happened.  I was so excited.

-    I am very unexciting, and posted twice today even though I’m quite boring lol. I was actually going to try doing a vlog today but then I chickened out… and by chickened out I mean I didn’t like my hair today so I didn’t want to record myself.  Lol.

-    My daughter doesn’t like sitting in the grass – it makes things easier when we go out somewhere – I can stick a blanket down on the ground and she won’t try to crawl off of it lol.

That’s all for today.  Maybe I’ll be back with more tomorrow lol.

SOMEthing's Drawn!

Linking up with the Lovely Major K again :)  I'm probably going to do two blog posts today, yup that's right people - I said TWO.  Cray-cray I know (I totally felt like a Kardashian saying that lmao).  I don't think using the word cray-cray fits my personality, but it's definitely fun to say lol.

Anywho, here are my BEE-YOOOOO-TIFUL drawerings :)

That is supposed to be a rabbit in a hat.

I like to help people out and give them some word hints... just in case my drawings TOTALLY suck lol.
I'm a bit disappointed in my Cookie Monster - I feel that he looks more like Grover - that's why I added the helpful hint.

Project 365 - Week 19 (a day late)

So I'm a day late with linking up....  it was a busy weekend for us and I totally lost track of time.  And then when I thought I was going to have time to post an entry (last night), Nora was sick and needed some Momma loving.  Poor little gal.  But the good news is that she is much better today and I have time to post!

Day 127 - Laundry Helper extraordinaire!

Day 128 - She made it halfway down the hallway and then found a water bottle - when I asked her what she was doing... this was the look she gave me lol

 Day 129 - Playing on Daddy's laptop

Day 130 - She was very quiet when she woke up from her nap today - and when I walked into her room - this is what we discovered.  She can now sit up and stand up on her own in her crib.  We lowered the crib that day lol.

Day 131 - Nora has discovered that Bella can help her stand up.  Although Bella is not too keen about this and will usually let Nora hang on to her about 15 seconds and then she walks away, causing Nora to fall down lol.  But she gets up and tries it over and over and over and over.

Day 131 - Nora decided to help me clean the bedroom (don't mind my disaster of a closet lol).  Her helping involved pulling clothes out of the shelves hanging in our closet.

Day 132 - 3 Family Garage Sale.  We didn't make AS much money as I had hoped - but we still made $129, so more than we started with lol.  It was a pretty slow day for garage sale business, although I'm not sure why - it was gorgeous outside.

SOMEthing's Drawn

I'm linking up with Mrs K this week.  I can't believe that it's Wednesday already - this week has flown by so fast.  I couldn't believe that it was time to link up and then I saw Mrs. K's blog.  And then I realized I better do a post today lol.

Picture number 1 - Golf Cart - I thought it was great.  Paul couldn't figure it out when I showed it to him - which isn't good, he golfs all the time lol.
I was lucky - this one was for a musical theatre friend of mine, so she realized right away that I was drawing The Wizard of Oz and the yellow brick road.
That's supposed to be Usher.  I wasn't sure how to draw him, so I said that he signed Bieber... we'll see if my drawing was good enough :)

Thanks for visiting today!!

Miscellany Monday

miscellany monday at
lowercase letters

1. Today seemed to be a very challenging day - but it was really just a normal day so I'm not sure why it seemed SO much more challenging.

2.  My little lady (and when she's older she will be upset that I posted about stuff like this on the internet...lol), is kind of backed up at the moment.  And I feel like a bad mom because of it.  She will literally scream when she tries to do her business, we tried to give her prune/apple juice this evening but she refuses to eat it.  Anyone out there in blogland have any other suggestions????

3.  I had a Catholic Women's League Executive meeting today and I feel SO great about things to come.  It's really exciting for us and for our church and our council right now.  We have some great ideas for the rest of the year and I can't wait to see them take place.

4.  Paul is at home this week.  For now.  Fingers crossed.  Lol.  He doesn't start his French course until the 28th of May, so he has nothing really until then.  Hopefully.  Unless he gets put on some sort of tasking... which we are hoping he won't be.

5.  I'm feeling very crafty.  But I just haven't had time to do anything lately, between cleaning house, folding laundry, making dinner, meetings with people, I just have no time left.

6.  I still haven't figured out what I'm doing job wise for the summer... if I'm doing anything at all.  I would love to be teaching over the summer but I still haven't heard back from the dance studio which is kinda sucky, but I'm still keeping my fingers crossed.  I may have an opportunity to watch one of Paul's co-workers two children for 4 weeks which would be a great source of income, but I have heard some not so great things about these kids... so I'm hesitant.
