SOLD

SOLD!!!

It is official now.  Our house has finally sold.  While we didn’t get exactly what we wanted for it we did make a teensy bit of money (which will be put towards the down payment of our next house at our next posting).  And it also means we are able to take some trips in the near future.

We will be heading to Cowtown for a week to visit Nana and Pop-pop (Paul’s parents) and then we will be heading down to the Georgia house at the end of September.  I’m sad because we will be missing the fair in Georgia we have to go home before it gets to Macon because someone starts his ACSO course the day after Canadian Thanksgiving.

I’m beyond pumped for the next two months. Thanks to everyone for all their prayers and words of encouragement as we went through the epic house sale of 2013.  You guys are all awesome!

Soothing

I don't know what it is, but there is something incredibly soothing about flying in a Herc.

This post is brought to you by the hashtag #opfridaysbigsurprise. Hubby was scheduled to fly out west this weekend with the squadron for an air show. It just so happens that the air show is in Comox, where all of his grandparents live and his parents happen to be visiting. He called me on Wednesday morning and asked if the girls and I were busy this weekend. I said that other than sleeping in and playing outside, we had nothing planned. He then said, ok - you have an appt to get your spousal id at 14:30 and we leave Friday morning at 10:30.

His parents know we are coming but no one else does. Right now I am in an air plane with the girls on the way to Comox. Annika is out and Nora is eating her plane snack. She was beyond excited to go on this airplane ride today. It's so different not flying on a commercial plane. Parachute seats to sit on. Having to wear ear defenders. It's crazy yet awesome. And I'm so glad my kids could experience what I did so many times as a child with my Dad. Plus - this is the surprise of a lifetime - none of the great grandparents have met Annika and only one set met Nora when she was 3 months old. It's going to be awesome.

Here is Nora enjoying her box lunch:

Fast asleep from the noise and vibration of the plane:

Hey August, what's up?

Well, well, well, August.. you seem to have snuck up on me oh so quickly.  Seriously though, wasn’t it just June and we were just moving??  No?  Oh, okay.  July was a busy month for us filled with lots of family time, unpacking, organizing and it included a week of girl time.  Lucky Paul had to go do his survival training for a week in July – it happened to be the hottest week we’ve had all summer, poor guy.  All I have to say is I’m glad that I don’t have to do it, I may have been a Girl Scout/Guide growing (both because I lived in the US and Canada lol) but I will not kill an animal to eat it.  So not cool.  And now here we are, the 5th of August already.  We are starting to gear up for fall and fall activities.  Nora has started doing a class on Wednesday mornings called Creative Tots, she absolutely LOVES it and says she’s going to school everytime we go.  Definitely adorable.  And dance classes start in one month!  I’m so pumped for her to have made the cut off this year for dance.  She’s going to be awesome.  Paul and I are also talking about putting her in a gymnastics class too, but until our darn house sells – not gonna happen.  Still waiting for that to sell, we will see what August brings.  Happy last month of Summer y’all!!
