Stay at Home Mom

So I'm diving into this whole Stay At Home Mom (SAHM) thing now. And I must say, I'm loving it this week. Last week was rough with Nora being sick and it being my first REAL week with Paul back to work. I'm starting to get into a "schedule" and get into the groove of things. Yesterday Nora and I went to visit a friend, Kyshna, in the afternoon and Nora did really well, she pretty much slept in her Boba the whole time. I'm really enjoying this whole baby wearing thing but it's hard to bake and do the dishes because my arms aren't quite long enough lol. So I have been putting her in her swing while I do those things. Yesterday I made a chicken dinner, and today I'm making chicken noodle soup with the stock and bones from yesterdays chicken. I'm also making buns, and I made raspberry turnovers. I plan to make some banana bread tonight as well. I'm heading down to Georgia for Thanksgiving with the family and Paul is only coming for the weekend (I get to stay for a whole week!! YAY!!) so I'm trying to make some freezer meals and goodies for him so he won't starve while I'm away - and so he won't eat out the entire time lol.

Weekly Meal Plan

Tuesday - Chicken Noodle Soup and Buns
Wednesday - Lasagna
Thursday - Chicken Pot Pie
Friday - Homemade Pizza
Saturday - Pasta
Sunday - Olive Garden *fingers crossed* it's my Birthday and I don't want to cook
Monday - Pork Chops and Potatoes

And numerous baking in there too - I'm making my friend Laura's wedding cake for next weekend (it has to be done by Friday - since that's when we leave for Georgia!!!), hopefully I can do it with no problems :)

Sick baby

So it's official. Nora has her first cold. And now Mommy has her first cold of the season as well. And it sucks. Poor little girl is all stuffed up and can't breathe very well. She keeps waking herself up at night so she's super tired. And when she eats, she has been vomiting because she starts to cough so much she gags. It's so frustrating to have to watch and not be able to do anything about it. Plus we are almost at her 3 month birthday so she will be hitting a growth spurt soon and she's wanting to eat all the time. I know I shouldn't really complain, I've been blessed with a wonderful baby who is mostly healthy and really is a wonderful child. And I know so many people who either can't have kids or are having issues with their babies. But this week has just been hard on me. It's my first full week back at home with Paul in school and I love that man to death but sometimes....I wanna strangle him lol. He just doesn't always understand what he needs to do for Nora so he will bring her back to me, so it's tough. But we will make it through this and Nora will get over her cold and I will one day get more sleep. Maybe when I'm 50.

Airplanes

Nora and I are on our way home from another whirlwind trip to Winnipeg. We had a blast, it was an awesome time.

We were there for Grandpa's retirement and what a weekend it was. Nora was so well behaved the entire time. She put up with people holding her and being passed around. It was probably a really tough week for her lol.

She's a great little traveller. This is her in my arms on the airplane.

What a weekend!

I just spent the past weekend in Winnipeg, celebrating my Dad's retirement from 37 years of service in the Royal Canadian Air Force. I can not believe how many people were there for the ceremony. It was standing room only. And the speeches, and the presentations, oh my goodness. My father was a well loved man in the military. He treated everyone with the same respect, no matter who you were, what rank you were, or what job you did. I'm so glad that Danielle and Paul and Nora and I were all able to be here for it. What an incredible weekend for an incredible guy.
