Monday's Tea Time

Welcome to Tea Time!

Today - instead of stressing out about life which I'm currently doing - I'm going to share a funny little story my Mom told me about church yesterday.

I'm a member of the Catholic Women's League of Canada and we are doing a Soup and Bun Fundraiser every Sunday after Mass during Lent.  So, I ducked out of the church service early to make sure our soup was ready to go and I left both Nora and Annika with Grandma and Grandpa.  They were a little crazy, as per usual, and after Mass, my Mom apologized to the couple who had been sitting next to them.  The lady told my Mom it was no problem at all, and that they hadn't even realized that Annika was there in her carseat the entire time.  My Mom then mentioned how nice it was to be able to spend time with them and how it was going to be hard when they leave.  The lady looked at her kind of funny, and then my Mom continued on saying how Paul was in the military and that we would be posted out within the year possibly.  And the lady said, "OH..oh, so you're the grandparents??"  She thought that my parents were Nora and Annika's PARENTS!!!!  My mom wasn't sure what to think of this conversation lol.  She told me about it today.  She said that she was happy, because it meant that Nora and Annika are super comfortable with them and they listen to them.  And it also meant that she looked young enough to have to SMALL children lol.

So on that note - enjoy your Monday and don't forget to wash your face every night and moisturize - that's my Mom's secret :)

Bring Your Own Cup Day

Well the first official day of Spring was yesterday.  And here in Manisnowba lol, it does NOT feel like Spring at all yet.  We still have a ton of snow everywhere and it's still very cold with windchills and freezing temperatures.  BUT to make the first day of Spring more fun, 7-11 was offering Bring Your Own Cup Day.  So, for $1.49 you could bring your own cup to fill with Slurpee :)  How fun is that??

We had Creative Tots in the morning and then we picked Daddy up from work, went home to get our creative containers and then headed to our local Sev.

Here is Miss Nora - the bottom right picture is standing outside of the 7-11 with her teapot.  Top Right is getting ready to pick her flavours of Slurpee and then the left hand picture is holding Daddy's Milk Jug full of Slurpee.

And here is Nora and her Daddy posing for their Slurpee picture.  And no worries, Nora did not actually drink that much Slurpee, I transferred a VERY small amount to her own cup when we got home, she didn't even drink all of it lol.  But it was the experience that was fun.

*Disclaimer - I was not compensated for these Slurpees nor did 7-11 ask me to write about this.  We just did this as a SuperFun family day.*

Currently

This week I am linking up with Randalin and Lindsey for Currently!

I love this link up - this week's words are:

 hoping, wondering, working, wearing, eating

I am:

Hoping - that the sickies are finally leaving our household.  I am also hoping that my Stampin' Up! Open House next weekend does well - I would like to be able to finally contribute to our income soon.  Since my mat leave finally ended.

Wondering - if the girls and I will be heading down South soon.  We are waiting to hear if my Dad will be able to drive down with us and then that means almost 3 weeks of sunshine in Georgia :)

Working - on being happier and cleaning my house from top to bottom.

Wearing - yoga pants.  It's my wardrobe when I'm a home, sometimes I dress up to go out lol.  Also, my Hunter boots - because it goes from snowy, to slushy, to icy, to slushy, to snowy all in one day here lol.

Eating - well I just ate a banana but I am craving all the chocolate in the world.  Thank you PMS.

Thanks for dropping by my little space on the world wide web - hope to see you again soon!!!

The sickies invade...

So we are all still sick.  Seriously.  This winter has been rough on us but we are trying our best to manage and maintain our health.  Poor Annika seems to be getting the worst of it but I think *knock on wood* that we are starting to come out of the bad part.

And now here are some pictures of the Sickies from the past month lol.
Watching the Canada Gold Medal Hockey Game super early in the morning - this was right before Annika got croup - so she still looks not bad, just Nora is sick here.
The start of feeling yucky for the little Miss.
Movie party on the living room floor to feel better.
Annika pre-nap
Annika napping.
Annika starting to feel better and playing with her jingle bells.

I forgot how much sick babies can take out of a Momma.  But since we are hopefully on the mend, I will be back to regularly scheduled blogging routine shortly.  I hope.  We will see lol.

Yellow ribbon gala

Every year in here, there is a fabulous event called The Yellow Ribbon Gala - it is to support our city's Military Family Resource Centre.  This year, we were able to make a weekend of the event, we rented a hotel room where the Gala was being held, got a babysitter who came to watch the girls at the hotel (so I could still run upstairs to feed Annika), and had an amazing time.

Nora and I posing in the mirror. My friend Randi came to the hotel
to do my hair, and also did Miss Nora's hair too!

Getting ready to head downstairs!

The programs for the night.

My handsome husband with two great family friends.
We've known each other since elementary school.
Paul has known them since birth pretty much lol.
We met at Brynne's (on the right) wedding :)

Me with the lovely sisters.

Photobooth fun with the couples.

Doing shots.  I had just come down from feeding Annika
and knew she wouldn't be eating until about 3-4am lol.
And that was the only one I did lol.
And this is the second bartender we went to, because we got ID'd at the first one.
Brynne didn't have her ID on her, it was in her hotel room.
I am 31.  She is 29.  We got ID'd.
We weren't sure if we should laugh, or cry lol.

Disney On Ice

One of the Christmas presents Nora and I received this year from my in-laws was tickets to Disney on Ice: Princesses and Heroes.  Nora didn't quite understand what we were going to, at first she thought we were actually going to Disney World lol.  When we got there, she was IN HEAVEN.  And I was in Trouble with a capital T.  My little girl knows how to turn on the charm and try to weasel her way into getting everything she wants - we are SO screwed when she gets older. Lol.

The first set up of souvenirs - they get BEFORE you even walk into the arena, we hadn't even shown our tickets yet and there was a booth.  Nora was dying.

She suckered me into buying her a Tinkerbell magic wand that spins around - Paul gave me a hard time about buying it because he doesn't want "junk" that she won't play with around in the house.  Let me tell you something - this kid has not put this wand down - the first week after we went to Disney On Ice, she wanted to sleep with it.  That's how much she loves this magic wand.

Mickey Mouse Water Bottle with Lemonade that Mommy couldn't say no to.

Decked out in her Princess dress with her necklace and
the "free" crown from her $12 bag of Cotton Candy.

Showing off her dress for me.

Waving to Minnie Mouse.

Holding hands with her boyfriend :)

Trying to do a selfie but she wanted the wand in the picture too lol.

Waving to Tinkerbell!

It was honestly an awesome experience and Nora absolutely loved it.  She wants to go to Disney now.  And learn how to figure skate.  And have Minnie and Tinkerbell over to our house for pancakes and a tea party.  Sometimes, I get all teary-eyed watching her experience these things because she just loves them so much and is just so in the moment.  I forget how to do that sometimes and she really helps me to slow down and just enjoy the little things.  I love her to pieces.

March

You know that old saying, 'In like a lion, out like a lamb', well I'm sure hoping it's true. This week has been a rough one in our house. Nora was sick first with a cough, so we took her to the walk-in, only to be told it was viral - so basically nothing you can do other than Tylenol and Advil. Then Annika got sick. So sick, that we spent a boatload of time in Emergency at Children's Hospital.

By the time we actually got in to see the doctor, the average wait time was 2 hrs 30 minutes and the longest someone had been waiting was almost 5 hours. Turns out, poor girl has croup. So we are all still sick in our house (even hubby and I now too).

And to top it off, this was our weather this morning (I provided both Celsius on the left and Fahrenheit on the right lol):

Bloody. Freaking. Cold.

So here's hoping the weather gets better, the sickies leave our house and that March will be a wonderful month!!
