Project 365 - Week 4

Linking up with Laura again :)  I've made it 4 weeks! YESSSS!!  This week has been a longer week, Nora has been teething like crazy and has been super fussy.  But thankfully - it's Sunday and a new week is starting :)  I have more than 7 pictures but that's because I actually used my REAL camera for some of my pics this week and wanted to show off some of the things I did hehe.

Sunday - My craft lair - that's our basement - it's a disaster right now.  My February goal is to have it looking perfect, I'll let you guys know how it goes lol.
Monday - Eating Pears for the first time - she seemed to enjoy it, for the most part.  She was more interested in what the dog was doing at this point in time though lol.
Tuesday - Hanging out in Mom and Dad's bed.  I love how she just sits on her own now and loves to be a "big" girl.  It's adorable.
Wednesday - The Otter Squadron 3rd Year wives get together almost every Wednesday for "coffee" mornings.  It's a nice thing to look forward to during the week.  This is Nora and Tianna (she was our flower girl for the wedding too).  Tianna wanted to hold Nora so badly but Nora didn't really want to be held... can you tell??
Thursday - Bath Time!!  We have discovered that Nora absolutely LOVES water.  We took her to the pool this week too and she adores it.  Hopefully we can go tonight (if Daddy gets home from work at a reasonable hour lol).
Friday - so no crawling yet - just a lot of rolling lol.  She was SUCH a happy baby on Friday, it was awesome :)
This is another Friday picture - after all of that rolling, she was a tired little lady lol.  This was taking using my "real" camera and using the colour dropper function (that is totally not the real name but that's what I call it).  I used pink as the colour focus because I liked how it showed her pink little cheeks.
I also used blue as the colour focus.
And then green :)
Saturday - with all of her rolling, she managed to turn her play mat upside down, it was adorable.  I was still using the colour focus, and I had it focused on the pink, but it does seem to be picking up the blue a little bit in this picture.  I'm glad I pulled out my real camera - it's not our big one, it's just a little Canon PowerShot SD1100IS Digital Elph.  But hey, it's better than just using the iPhone all the time, right??

TGI....F??

Friday?? Seriously?? It's Friday already.  This week has flown by.  In fact, this month has flown by.  On Sunday Nora will be 7 months old!  That is insane to me.  That also means I have 4 days to get my FB and Etsy page up and running.  I gave myself a goal to have my little shop open and running by February 1st.... I sure hope I can get everything done in time.  And on top of that - RMC being the lovely institution that it is, has scheduled a working weekend for the guys.  So Paul is at work ALL WEEKEND long.  No break for this momma, which kind of sucks.  I know I should be thankful that Paul is here and not deployed and not away for training but that's what makes it suck for me - he is here and he can't be home to spend time with me and Nora.

And my complaining brings me to a new topic - Gratitude journals.  My new pal Sarah (over at Life is What You Make It) talks about Grateful Mondays where she lists everything that she was grateful for over the past week.  I think I need to do that more often.  As I was showering this morning (because that's really the only time I get to myself other than naptime lol)  I was thinking that I've been pretty negative lately - and not just about stuff in my life, I've been negative about other people too.  It's hard to stay positive sometimes and you get sucked into what other people are saying and thinking.  So my "goal" for February is to start a Gratitude Journal where I have to find at least ONE thing every day that I'm grateful for and ONE thing about a person that I'm grateful for every day - especially the people that have been bugging me so much lately.

It's been pretty grey and miserable here lately, the temperature has been wonderful - hovering around plus 5 degrees Celsius, which for January is AMAZING.  But I want winter.  I want my snow.  I live in Canada - land of SNOW.  It was raining on Wednesday, and it rained so much that there was absolutely no snow left on the ground .... BUT it's snowing right now.  :)  Big fluffy flakes.  Hopefully it will stay for a little bit - I want to get some more use out of Nora's sled before we have to turn it back into a wagon.

Sorry for the randomness of Friday - I'm going to try to blog more next week and maybe participate in some link ups :)  Have a great weekend!!!

Monday Miscellany

1. I went to a Pampered Chef party tonight.  It was fun.  I'm also hosting my own party next month now lol.  And they were trying to convince me that I need to be a rep... but I already sell Stampin Up so I think Paul would kill me if I took on something else too lol.

2.  Nora is a rolling machine now.  You set her down on one side of the living room - turn your back for two seconds and she's moved 8 feet lol.  She's totally going to be crawling before we realize it's happening.

3.  It was plus 8 today.  (that's Celsius - not Farenheit lol).  Which is warm.  Really warm for January in Canada.  The snow we had on the ground - well it's mostly melted now.  It makes me a little bit sad.  I wanted winter this year lol.

4.  We are trying to save money.  It's hard.  But this week for groceries, we spent $80 and that got us EVERYTHING... so hopefully we can start to cut down the money we are spending on "extras".

5.  I'm trying to get my online shop and fb page ready to go this week.  We want to launch for February 1st.  It's a crash course in web crap for me.  Makes me nervous.  But I think I can do it.  I hope I can do it.

Project 365 - Week 3

Linking up for Week #3!!! Wahoo!! I made it :)
Thanks again Laura for hosting this!!

- Day 15 -
We finally got a bunch of snow so we used Nora's Christmas present from Grandma Barb and Grandpa Eldren (my parents) - her sleigh!!

- Day 16 -
Sometimes we like to put Nora on top of Bella... you can see that Bella looks super impressed with us lol.

- Day 17 -
I like to sit around and chill out with Mommy.

- Day 18 -
Nora is teething right now and wants to put EVERYTHING in her mouth - even the bottle of Wiser's that Paul was using to pour a drink from after he got home from work lol.

- Day 19 -
Nora loves the Backyardigans.  And she sings along.  It's adorable.

- Day 20 -
Super tired after my Mom Fail of the day - put her in her crib and she rolled onto her stomach and then got her leg caught in between the bars of her crib - I felt awful and she was so upset for most of the afternoon, so we snuggled.

- Day 21 -
Everyone could use a little cowbell in their life.  Especially Nora. :)

Project 365 - Week 2

Linking up for Week 2 with Laura at Between the LinesI'm proud of myself for being able to do 2 weeks of this so far.  I was worried that I wouldn't remember to take a picture every day, but so far so good :)
1.  Super cute sleeping baby.

2. Trying something I saw on good ol' Pinterest.  This makes my house still smell like Christmas, even though all remnants of Christmas have disappeared.

3. Nora and her boyfriend Des :)

4.  Nora and her BFF Bella.  Bella has been SO good with Nora lately, even when Nora decides to grab her fur and pull it as hard as she can lol.

5.  Hanging on the couch with her bunny watching The Lion King.

6.  Playing with the ball the Grandma and Grandpa bought her.  She's a champ and can pretty much sit on her own now... she still topples once in awhile lol.

7.  Her new Giraffe, Safari, with the big eyes, she seems to love him so far.  He's just like Auntie Danie's little guy, Beeper.  I'm so excited we found one for Nora.

Can't wait for next weeks link up again :)  Hopefully I can make it to week 3 lol.

Wordless Wednesday

We got the disc with our wedding pictures on it today - and I am SO thrilled with how they turned out, thought I'd post them for people to check out.  My good friend Pam was the photographer - you can check her out at Light Graph.

Miscellany Monday

Miscellany Monday @
lowercase letters

1.  Teething is horrible.  My little lady turned from a sweetheart into a terror overnight.  And it kills me that I really can't do anything to help her.  I just hope that these teeth poke through ASAP.

2.  Paul started back to RMC today.  He has one class on Mondays - what a rough life lol.  Hopefully this semester won't be as crappy as last semester.

3.  I start doing childcare for a friend's child tomorrow.  Once a week I will be taking care of him...I'm a bit nervous as he's almost 5 years old and that's so different than how things are with Nora.  Hopefully it will all go smoothly.  If y'all have any ideas on how to keep a 5 year old entertained, I sure would appreciate them.

4.  Pinterest is sucking up too much of my time.  But I love it.  Really really love it lol.

Project 365 - Week 1

I'm linking up with Laura today at Between the Lines for her Project 365.  Hopefully this will help keep me accountable for taking pictures this year :)

1.  Our honeymoon.  Guess where we went??? lol.  It was so much fun.  We took Nanny Danie with us, which was awesome, she watched Nora while we were able to go on some rides, which was super nice. (Nanny Danie is my sister in case anyone was wondering lol)

2. Nanny Danie and I at Epcot Centre in the Morracan pavilion.  It was super cool, I loved all of the different areas they had.

3. Nora's new friend Figment, we will take pictures of Figment every place that we travel and then Nora can look back on the pictures and use her imagination. My sister has a little traveling Lemur named Beeper that she takes pictures of.  Figment was chilling with me in the front seat :)

4. Lunch at the Bears Den with Figment (fitting because our nicknames are Karebear, PandaBear, and BabyBear - also sometimes called NoraBear lol)

 5.  Nora hanging out with Auntie Nanny Danie lol.  She had a blast with her :)

6.  Nora at the Cabbage Patch.  BabyLand General exists.  And IT. WAS. AWESOME.  That's Kaiya - Nora picked her right out of the Patch (well, I did really lol).

7.  Figment chilling on the dashboard on the LONG drive back to Canada.  Did you know that it takes 18 hours from Georgia to get back home??  It was A LONG DRIVE.

SEE YOU ALL NEXT WEEK!!

New years

I'm not really one for New Year's Resolutions. I find that they stress me out and I end up abandoning them mid-January. This year however, I plan to try to keep a few of them.

1. Drink more water. I drink enough but lately I've found myself reaching for pop over water. I want Nora to be über-healthy as she grows up and if that means me sacrificing pop and candy and junk so be it.

2. Project 365. I'll be linking up to Laura for this on Sunday's (I'm blogging from the car with no wi-fi right now so no links at the moment). I know she's trying to use her "real" camera but for me, I'm sticking with the iPod camera for now lol. It's way handier for me at the moment and I'm still learning to use our big camera. I downloaded the 365 app for my phone and so far I'm doing good. But it's only the 6th lol.

3. Menu Planning. we just started menu planning at the end of the year. I found it helped reduce many things - foods that got tossed out, our budget, and the stress I had every night trying to figure out what to make for dinner lol. Hopefully I will be able to maintain this too.

Hopefully I can stick with these... I may have more later but I'm worried about setting the bar too high and failing lol.
